As the important way to carry out the ideals of quality education, teaching of mathematics thought and method(MTM) has got the educator's general concern. However "Student personally constructs to be key link of learning". Study how the teacher taught should study how students learned at first. Modern cognitive psychology has made the abundant achievement on general study theory and practice. But direct against research of MTM learning seem too little. This paper process from modern information theory classification in knowledge start with and analyze essential feature of MTM. Combining the research results to the understanding, mathematics understanding of forefathers on this basis, probe into the connotation of MTM understanding, Analysis the cognitive foundation that MTM understanding need and their understand inside psychological process, mechanism. Metacognition is playing an important role on all respects that students learning, This paper explain the close relation among the metacognitive knowledge, experience, control and MTM separately, thinking that there are benign and interdynamic relations between the metacognitive and MTM learning.
