As a famous educationalist and practician of the Chinese language and literature (abb.as CLL), YU YI plays a leading role for the promotion of education reform of CLL course. For about half century, she has persisted in cultivating students, studied the traditional and modern methods of CLL education Based on the tradition, in connection with the contemporary CLL education , YUYI investigates thoroughly the knowledge of present and past and proposes certain effective methods. The center of her educational thought is: treating students as the primary element and teaching language for shaping personality.YUYI emphasizes that CLL education should be student-centered, i.e., geared to the needs of students , and aim at the multifaceted improvement of the quality and accomplishment .It should be avoided that the sole emphasis on importation of language and the exercise of skill rather than the education of disposition of students . CLL education must grasp firmly two basic points: 1) Teachers should establish solid foundation for promoting the people of wholistic development, i.e., teaching language services for shaping characteristics, for the study growth, healthy maturity and many-faced capabilities; 2) teachers must grasp precisely the nature and functions CLL course.As for the nature of CLL course ,YUYI reflect on the experience of her three arduous experiment and points out that first of all ,one should define the nature and functions of languages, then define those concepts of language .One should not attach importance only on the utility aspect of CLL as a tool and exaggerate unilaterally the function of exercise ,so that ignore the humanity of CLL course with in fact is a practical and intriguing subject.Concerning the function of CLL education , YUYI emphasizes the elaboration of synthetic and entire effect of the whole system. The simplicity and over-generalization should be avoided. 1) Lay stress on the combination of language training and thinking training , and weave together with the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing .2) Emphasize the comprehensiveness of knowledge, sensibility, competence and understanding. Through certain affecting and pleasing to eye ways to inspire thinking and encourage aspiration and cultivate students of wholistic development 3) Employ diversified methods of teaching and learning and establish a radial communicative teaching model. 4) Make CLL immerge into the daily life in class ,main points of language of the course are practiced ,while ,out of class, the knowledge is extended, broaden, and deepened .With regard to the role of students, YUYI proposes that students are the subjective characters of CLL study, and that teachers should show solicitude and devote themselves for offering help to students. It is adviced that teachers use heuristic , instructive and suggestive way in order to spare time and leave space for the autonomous thinking and study to studentsAs for teachers' qualities . YUYI states, from the perspective of students , that the teachers' virtue should be exemplary, so does their style of study. YUYI recommends the unobtrusive influence of teachers' personal excellence to the students' intelligence. Theadvancement formula of teachers is : Practice +Reflection=Success.The implication of YUYI 's thought for CLL education should give students a golden key to the door of knowledge , i.e., teach students how to think and how to study .the teachers of CLL course are needed to change their traditionally fixed role to guest and investigate the true essence of CLL education . |
