This paper is a research on assessment of project learning itself, aiming at the question that the theoretical research of assessment of project learning is insufficient in China, which is not advantageous to development of project learning and can not meet the urgency need of assessment of project learning in practice. The author analyzes the aim of project learning and the new demands that the aim makes to the assessment of project learning. On the basis, the author systematically makes a rational analysis to the basic contents about the nature, the value-oriented, characteristics, subjects, contents, the basis, methods, principles, outcomes and implementation ways in assessment of project learning. The author brings up a series of viewpoint and opinion for construction of the theory on assessment of project learning.In the first part, the major contents are about the aim of project learning and the new demand that the aim makes to the assessment of project learning. The value-oriented of project learning stipulate objectively the aim and goal of assessment of project learning. And it decides the nature and value-oriented of assessment of project learning and stipulates the direction of the characteristics, subjects, contents, the basis, methods and ways of assessment in project learning from a macroscopic viewpoint. In a word, itreveals what assessment of project learning should be. Furthermore, the author sets forth the nature and the value-oriented of assessment of project learning. Assessment of project learning is an assessment for development and of subject-oriented.In the second part, the author analyses the relations among the theory of development in an all-round way in Marxism, the theory of practice in Marxism, the theory of modern knowledge, the theory of lifelong education, the theory of multiple intelligence with assessment of project learning. Assessment of project learning absorbs much nutrition from these theories. They are important sources for construction and development of the theory of assessment of project learning.In the next part, the author analyses the theoretical relation between assessment of project learning and modern educational assessment. The ideas displayed in the theory of new educational assessment have the important guiding meaning to assessment of project learning. It provides a brand-new train of thought to assess the students' condition of project learning comprehensively and authentically by way of qualitative assessment.In the forth part, the major content is about systematically research of assessment of project learning. The author analyses these basic contents about the characteristics, subjects, contents, the basis, methods, principles, outcomes and implementation ways in assessment of project learning. There are many differences between assessment of project learning and traditionalassessment of subject. The assessment of project learning is an assessment for development, which has many subjects, contents, multiple methods and outcomes, etc.In summarization, the author summarizes ideas of assessment of project learning to the full paper. Assessing students' development, we should use multiple assessing methods creatively and flexibly, so that we reflect students' project learning authentically and comprehensively. The more important thing is that we should advocate an idea of assessment for development and personalization, and really realize students' multiple learning ways and abilities. Thus we can develop a correct idea of assessment of project learning and promote students' development in an all-round way.
