It has been only over 20 years since computer networks came into being, but they have been having profound influences upon people's production, living and learning. The networks are infiltrating into the realm of mankind's ideology with invisible forces. People's living styles, outlooks on life, outlooks on value and world views have been branded with the networks without knowing.The stage in middle school is the key period of development in one's life. The bodies and minds of the students are being in the period of development. During that moment, middle school students are liable to accept new things, have strong curiosities and they are brave to explore and innovate, but they are weaker to select, analyze and judge the information from outside. The profound influences from computer networks upon the development of moral character of middle school students have already caused people's attention from all circles in society. It is of great realistic significance to study this question.Questionnaire, documents and the way of visiting were used to investigate, analyze and discuss the question in the text.Moral character consists of moral cognition, moral emotions and moral behaviors. This question were analyzed and discussed from the three aspects, and measures were put forward.Computer networks are two-edged swords. On the one hand, they are changing the traditional styles of moral education, have increased further the channels of moral cognition and have enhanced the interaction in the exchange. Networks are convenient for students to express their inner moral emotions sufficiently and freely, to exert students' initiative and to enhance students' abilities of moral selection and moral judgment, and so on. On the other hand, networks also make the students' moral cognition more complex, and networks are liable to cause the students' "ego" to release excessively and the spread of moral relativism. The "black, yellow, poison" through the networks make against the formation and development of good moral character of middle school students etc. hi the same time, higher requirements were put forward for the students' moral self-discipline.The irrational use and the lack of social value are the mechanism and fundamental reason, which make disadvantageous effect upon the formation and development of moral character of the students. In the end, countermeasures were produced mainly from the following aspects: family, school and society.
