After studying the Resolution of Deepening the Education Reformation and Promoting the Education for All-around Development Comprehensively was promulgated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,the State Council. I found that the mathematic teaching in the senior middle school is to meetnew challenges-how to improve students' mathematic study quality? With thisquestion and my tutor's guidance,I referred to a large amount of resources about pedagogy and psychology in and out China,studying the educational thought and teaching methodology which affected the self-determinative education thought greatly in the education domain of China in recent five years. I researched into the arrangement manner,structure,characters and primary changes of the new senior middle school curriculum and found out the new educational ideas that supported the new curriculum. I used to be a middle school mathematic teacher and I made a study and summing-up of the notion to mathematic and mathematic teaching,mathematic learning strategy,mathematic discovery law and the trends of the mathematic education innovation in our country in last decade. A new idea came out of the process of drawing their nutrition. That is to integrate philosophy,pedagogy,psychology,mathematic,mathematic education,etc. into a set of applied theory to develop a new classroom teaching mode. During the exploration of practising,developing and improving,I made my project as The Mode Constructing and Practice Exploring on the Self-determinative Mathematic Teaching Approach of the Senior Middle School.The experiment began in September,2001. I made plenty of prophase preparation to make sure the experiment could be carried out smoothly. The experiment has changed teachers' instructing conception and the participant teachers' experimental teaching skills has been trained and improved. Quantization analysis to the entrance achievement was made in September,2001.The Experimental classes and the contrast classes were chosen among four classes of almost the same level in two different schools. I adopted three kinds of research ways. The first is reasoning and conformity. The second is demonstration. The third is interview and inquiry. The aim of the theoretical reasoning and conformity is to summarize the supporting theory to the experiment by learning from the involved theories. I consider the Activity Philosophy as the basis of designing the experimental lessons so mat the students' activities and the teachers' dominance converge harmoniously to give prominence to the students in the Self-determinative Mathematic Teaching process. According to the modern education theory,students' learning principles and the arrangement characters of the text book,I designed a six-link new lesson teaching mode:(1) Check that leaks and fill a vacancy to perfect the structure;(2) Establish the situation to comply with the students independently;(3) Probe by experiment and solve the problem independently;(4) Recombine the activity,internalize and divide layer;(5) Feedback and evaluate,innovate by reflective thinking;(6) Strengthen the practice,divide layers to suit the students. The self-determinative teaching mode ofconsolidating lessons and exercise lessons are introduced by new lesson teaching mode. Demonstration research 1 interprets that under me normal demand there are no distinct diversity between the grade of the experiment class and the contrast class,but the grade of the experiment class is only a little better than that of the contrast class. But the grade of the experiment class where G.Polya Inspiring Method was used is the best. The students' grade of the experiment class reduced gap. The effect of layer division teaching's experiment class is the best. Demonstration Research 2 shows that there are distinct differences in the ability of solving the synthetical problems(for the first time) between the experiment class where G.Polya Inspiring Memod was used and the class where G.Polya Inspiring Method was not used.
