Based on summarizing the origin of STS and STS education, STS education is regarded as the reflection of STS on education. Science literacy, which could be enriched with the progress of society, has bearing on STS education. Developing the science literacy of all is the objective of STS education. In the course of discussing the relationship among science, technology and society, the features of STS education, which not only embodies the way of modem synthesis thinking but also reflects the instruction theory named constructivism, are analyzed.From the history point of view, the relation between STS education and science education, which means STS education is the tendency of the reform of science education, is put forward. It is clear that STS education doesn't run counter to contemporary educational trends such as quality education, creativity in education and humanistic education, but coincides with them. Then the relation between STS education and secondary physics education is given.The reflection of STS education on the curriculum embodies the perspective on STS curriculum, on the basis of which the thesis elaborates the basic propositions of STS curriculum which consist of seeking harmonious development of all, emphasizing self-organization, paying close attention to communication and dialog, laying stress on experience and self-examination and embodying subjectivity. STS curriculum is virtually looked as a kind of post-modern curriculum.From the international point of view, in view of several typical STS curricula abroad and in the light of the nature of physics and our national conditions we are faced with, the objective of physics curriculum is made clear. The fundamental principles for constructing physics curriculum are put forward, which orientate us to explore the construction of physics curriculum. Finally, the framework of physics curriculum, which embodies the idea of STS education, is developed, and the contents of physics curriculum are selected.
