The thesis, which is based on sizing up the characteristics of affection, proves that affection has particular functions in reading teaching This paper also inquires into the rule about affection teaching. The first chapter discusses the characteristics of affection. The characteristics of affection concerns the process of psychology, the state of mind, the contents of psychology, the individual character and so on. It settles the base of producing the functions of affection. The second chapter proves the functions of affection. The function of affection includes impetus, signal, influence and transfer. It is proved from three respects: The characteristics of affection settles its function . The essential qualities of reading and reading teaching settles the base of producing a marked effect. The reflecting of this function in the reading teaching .These functions include many respects . Such as effecting the main body抯 reading results and effecting the main body to choose and use information. They also include increasing the teacher?effect, influncing the students?affection and transfering the students?affection to some relevant subjects. What抯 more, they include transferring the students?affection on works to their emotion educating about themselves. These functions effect each other and effect reading teaching together. The third chapter proves the rule about affection education. There are two rules about affection education, the one is developing congnition, affection and will in an all-round way. The other is uniting the true, the good and the beauty harmoniously. It is very important to produce the functions according to the rule.
