In the particular social group of college students exist some common group norms, which is the performance of university students'herd mentality. For now, there are many relevant articles separately studying college students herd mentality or university students physical exercise attitude. However, there are few articles combining the college students herd mentality and physical activity and studying the interacting relationship between the two.This study uses the methods of literature, questionnaire survey method, and mathematical statistics, etc. Through investigating herd mentality and attitude towards physical activity of university students in Shenyang City it analyzes the effects of herd mentality of college students in Shenyang City on their physical training attitude. Consciously developing and utilizing the individual student "herd mentality" in teaching activities, setting the consistent individual and physical education herd goals, promoting children psychological state toward a positive and healthy direction will also be a good way to do the college physical education work and cultivate the students'life-long sports consciousness.The research results show that:1. Boys have better rational herd mentality than girls, girls have better irrational herd mentality than boys. Boys get higher scores than girls in the two dimensions which are behavior attitude and behavior intentions of exercise habits, while girls get higher scores in the two dimensions which are behavior recognition and behavioral sense of control of training attitudes than boys. The attitude of male students toward physical exercise is better than the female university students.2. Universities major in science and technology, agricultural and medicine have the strongest compliance behavior, while the normal university students have the strongest blind compliance behavior. Different college students have significant differences in behavioral attitudes, objectives attitudes, behavior cognitive, behavioral habits, behavior intention, and emotional experience.3. University students major in science behave better than arts students active in herd behavior, while science students have better attitudes than arts students in attitude toward physical activity.4. First-year university students have better herd behavior than second-year ones, whose herd behavior is more active than second-year college students, while various factors second-year university students in attitude of physical activity will vary when compared with first-year students.5. College students from villages have more positive herd behavior than the ones from the city, the attitude of urban university students in physical exercise is better than rural students.Suggestions:1. It proposes university-related educators should pay attention to the herd mentality exists in college students, and takes appropriate intervention measures.2. We should take reasonable measures to improve the status of herd mentality of girls, and should also dig the reasons of the differences in attitude of male and female toward exercise, and take effective measures to improve girls'attitude of physical activity.3 On the exercise attitudes, different types of colleges and universities should learn from other schools, teaching experience to improve the attitude of university students in physical exercise.4. Educators should base on differences of students produced by different subjects, learning and living environment to conduct rational guidance to college students in line with actual situation, which makes college students are able to comprehensively improve the attitude and the enthusiasm toward physical training, and forms a good sense of life-long physical exercise.
