With the coming of economic globalization and knowledge economy, every country has a clear understanding that having high-quality talent is an important guarantee for the invincible. And higher education is the main carrier of the dissemination,innovation and application of the knowledge. It is also an important position to cultivate and foster an innovative spirit and practical ability of top talent. Cultivation of innovative talents has become the most important component of higher education reform. At the same time, the rapid development of technology provides technical support for the reform of teaching methods. Research Teaching which cultivates creativity and research capabilities and takes them as the goal of teaching reform of higher education has become a trend. Therefore, construction of new teaching model is an important way to achieve education reform.Research teaching in universities is that teachers should guide the students to use knowledge, experience creatively by the combination of practice, teaching and research. It based on the courses and the accumulation of knowledge of the students. It selects research topics from the disciplines or real life, so the students can gain knowledge and build capacity through it.Teaching mode is the "bridge" of teaching theories and teaching practice. In this thesis, documentary research, expert interviews, experiments, surveys and other research methods have been used to find out that there are main three problems:First, research teaching of arts in universities are lack of specificity, the characteristics of Arts are not so obvious. Second, research teaching of arts in universities is lack of researching. It usually confuses with other teaching activities. Third, researching of arts in universities is not doing so good in the research of model construction, that is not conducive to effectively enhance the quality of their teaching.This thesis explores ways of constructing the teaching model of research teaching of arts in universities in the context of teaching reform. The aim is to reveal the main problems in the current research teaching, and explore from a theoretical point of view to provide the theoretical basis for the practice of research teaching.
