Mr. Li jinxi was one of the first generation of linguists researching on modern Chinese, and as well as an outstanding Chinese educationist. From beginning to end, he was concern about the Chinese teaching cause, regarding as the origin of talent training and national development. He devoted himself into Chinese education reform actively and researched Chinese educational theory deeply. He established the preliminary foundation of the theory system for Chinese teaching methods and made remarkable contribution to this system as well. His educational thoughts on Chinese have great reference and instructional significance to the past and current Chinese education.This thesis is mainly based on the Mr. Li jinxi's original works and treatises related to educational thoughts on Chinese by Li jinxi, using methods of literature research, content analysis and comparative research, etc. to make a more comprehensive categorization and systematic study on Li jinxi's educational thoughts and practice on Chinese. The final purpose is to exhume the practical significance of Chinese educational thoughts by Li jinxi, provide some valuable materials to the research on Li jinxi's educational thoughts in the future and make some contribution to Chinese education nowadays.This article is divided into five chapters:Chapter 1, "the basic idea of Chinese education by Li jinxi" describes the recognition of Chinese subject's nature and objective by Li jinxi and the background of this idea. Chapter 2, "the idea of Chinese teaching materials by Li jinxi" analyzes why Li jinxi thought highly of textbook compilation and the principles and characters of textbook compilation as well. Chapter 3 is "the idea of Chinese teaching methods by Li jinxi" and Chapter 4 is "other Chinese educational practice of Li jinxi". Those two chapters summarize and analyze the experience and means accumulated by Li jinxi since he had been engaged in Chinese teaching career for a long period. Chapter 5,"the practical significance of Li jinxi's educational thoughts and practice on Chinese" is the most important part in this thesis, on the base of the intensive research and systemic analysis on Li jinxi's educational thoughts and methods according with rules of Chinese education, discussing the inspiration for furthering current Chinese education reform from multiple perspectives.
