In order to improve the quality of teacher education in normal universities, attract excellent students to teachers team and make high quality education the basis of teachers, in September 2007 the Ministry of Education began to carry out free normal education in higher normal colleges affiliated with the Ministry of Education. According to the target of cultivating excellent teachers and educators and requirements of basic education development and curriculum reform, higher normal colleges affiliated with the Ministry of Education had set out free normal training programs.Since the implementation of free normal education, free normal education research became a focus point of teacher education. At present, researches about free normal education, mainly focused on the study of free normal education policy and lacked of researches of professional quality about free normal students and its influence factors, which provides tremendous exploring space for this study.This study includes the following five parts:The first part which is the introduction section, mainly includes the background of the study, summarizes the present research conditions at home and abroad, the research significance, the research purpose, the research contents, the research methods and the research of the overall designc.In the second part, the paper defines and analyzes the core concepts,which include free normal education students of chemistry, teacher professional development of free normal education students of chemistry,professional qualities of free normal education students of chemistry, influential factors about teacher professional development of free normal education students.The third part and the fourth part belongs to empirical research, contain the research on professional qualities about free normal education students of chemistry and the research on influential factors of teacher professional development about free normal education students of chemistry. This paper makes use of the two questionnaire of the author wok out to survey the first free normal education students of chemistry. On the base of questionnaire investigation, this paper adopts the self-made Interview outline and interviews twenty-four free normal education students of chemistry, a teaching secretary and a college instructors. The fifth part contains the conclusion and suggestion.The paper summarizes the conclusion about two survey and puts forward some suggestions to promote teacher professional development about free normal education students of chemistry based on conclusion.The sixth part mainly reviews the research process, points out the shortcomings and the further research direction.
