Traditional Chinese reading teaching promotes receptive teaching model. It was directed by the theories, such as "Writer as the center" "Text as the center"。As the new curriculum reform was carried forward, the theories used in the reading teaching are increasing. Reception Aesthetics is one of the theories that the researches focus.Reception Aesthetics stresses readers' roles in the process of reading. Through instructing reading teaching ,it can help the students to be the main part in reading. It emphasizes individual reading. A lots of researches has been carried out , then most of the researchers think Reception Aesthetics do provide a good theory instruction to middle school reading teaching. But nowadays there is a problem in understanding it and putting it into use for teachers. So it is not easy to apply Reception Aesthetics to reading teaching in high school.This paper talks about the current situation of application of Reception Aesthetics in high school Chinese reading teaching, and discuss the reasons.There are three reasons. The first one is that high school reading teaching is in a state of confusion. The second one is lack of dialectical analysis in practice. The third one that we seldom discuss the limited space in applying Reception Aesthetics to reading teaching. This paper can be divided into four parts. In the first part it discusses the reasons of problem through analyzing the current situation. In the second part, it make a distinction between "student as the center" and "reader as the center", then put the situation in a proper order. The three part is to analyze the elements of Reception Aesthetics in reading teaching. The four part is to discuss the limited space in applying the Reception Aesthetics to reading teaching, hoping Reception Aesthetics can be used more frequently and properly in the future.
