| Idolatry is a prevalent phenomenon in the university campus. That is a kind of self-display and personality characteristics showing of young people. It is also a dream of future goal for a better life and a special form of emotional expression. Nowadays compared to the idols who are admired by youth, the model education, as an important way of moral education, its effect has been weakened. This thesis uses research approaches such as documents and materials study, investigation method of the questionnaire, etc, to make investigations in idolatry and the effectiveness of model education among the college students. It tries to find out the current situation of college students'idolatry, and the situation of model education in the university, analyze the problem in the traditional model education. From the perspective of idolatry, I tried to put forward the tactics of how to improve the effectiveness of model education in university during the new period.Besides introduction and conclusion, the full text contains four parts together.In part one, according to the result of questionnaire investigation, The author knows about the present college students'attitude towards idolatry, current situations such as the types, characteristics, and the roles of idols play in the teenagers grow up.Part two analyze the importance of model education in the new period, and reflect why the effect of the traditional model education been weakening. Then to explore the characteristics of the current model should have.Part three describes the content and features of idol, analysis the positive and negative effects of idolatry, and finds out the feasibility of model education learn from the idol. Analyze the principles of combining idol advantages with model education.In the last part, from five aspects: the model selection method; model education pattern; propaganda mode; cultivating the critical spirit and campus model culture, to find a way to improve the effectiveness of the college model education.
