| Employment is the foundation of people's livelihood, which is related to economic development and social stability, as well as the realization of a well-off society. The employment of graduates relates to not only the vital interests of students but the construction and development of colleges. The party, government and various circles of society have shown great attention to the employment of graduates over the years. As China's reform and development of higher education continue to move forward, the distribution system for graduates has transferred from "guarantee job assignment" model to a new pattern of "market-oriented, government supervision, school recommendation, two-way choice between graduates and employers". In recent years, the employment of increasing urban labor, reemployment of laid-off workers and the transfer of rural surplus labor force to cities have resulted in an over-supply tension for urban labor market, which makes the employment situation even worse for college graduates, especially for those local college graduates. With the popularization of higher education in China, graduate employment has become a serious social problem. In recent years, the reform of national labor employment and graduate employment system has provided good conditions for graduates"two-way choice", however it also makes graduates have to undertake huge pressure on subjects of choice and competitive challenge. Along with the economic development and social progress, the difficulty of graduate employment in local universities has become the focus of public attention. The change and development of social structure bring not only opportunities and hopes but challenges and difficulties to graduate employment. Those graduates from local universities have to face an awkward embarrassing situation in employment. It has become an important and practical issue to realize resource optimization and combination between graduates and society by market mechanism. The government has paid more and more attention to the employment of local college graduates gradually. Various circles of society have to work together to achieve the optimization of graduates allocation. Besides the self-quality and employment attitude of graduates, the professional socialization and marketization is also an important reason affecting employment. Universities have some cognizance deviation in the progress of professional, and can not provide proper guidance in graduates'career plan, so these universities have to make timely adjust and pay more attention to students'career planning. Graduates must make their knowledge and ability keep pace with the times, improve their core competence in employment, thus to adapt the requirement of market economy and vocational development in pluralism. With the increasingly strengthen of international economic integration, the development of China's education and the change of national employment situation make graduate employment entering a new phase, in which the graduate employment of local colleges has to face a new situation and many new questions. Therefore, the research on current graduate employment in local colleges has important theoretical and practical significance. This paper is to analyze the employment situation of local college graduates systematically, taking local colleges in Hebei province as a case study, thus to prescribe scientific proposals for personnel training and graduate employment. |
