A Research On The Family Influence To Campus Violence In Junior High School

The main purpose of this study is to understand the type and distribution of junior school violence. The paper focusing on the family impact to the school violence of junior high school students, and putting forward proposals deal with the education of school violence.The study takes 366 secondary school students in Anhui province as the research object, and takes survey as the main research method, using questionnaires, scales measuring and literature method to collect data, analyzing data by using SPSS 16.0 software. The study takes family factors as predictor variables, school violence as outcome variables. Family variables can be divided into objective variables and the subjective variables. Objective variables included:family structure, number of children in the family, father's profession, mother's profession, father's educational background, mother's educational background and family economic level. Subjective variables refer to the father's rearing and mother's rearing.The research discovered that over 90.7% of the junior high school students have mild and moderate school violence. There are grade and sex significant differences among the junior high school students. Specifically, boys take more school violence than girl; grade one and three students takes more school violence than the students in grade two.Based on T test of independent samples, variance test and correlation analysis, the conclusions are following:First, Objective variables of family structure, number of children in the family, father' s profession and father's educational background have significant influence to school violence in junior high school, in which the most explanatory power variable is father's profession. The family economic level, mother's profession and mother's educational background have no impact on school violence. Second, students from single-parent, reorganization and inter-generational family take more school violence than those who come from other families; Single child takes more school violence then non-single child; father as "commercial service" and "farmers" Junior students takes more school violence, and father as "teachers, technology and health care personnel" of the students in the least occurrence of school violence.Third, two subjective variables of parents'rearing both have the impact on school violence of middle school students. Emotional warmth and understanding of father's rearing is the most explanatory factor to school violence and the rejection factor of mother's rearing is the most explanatory factor to school violence.Finally, this study proposes a building to prevent school violence from the ecological system, strengthen and attention to family education, school violence, home-school advocates should address three aspects of school violence in education in junior high school studentsFinally, based on research findings, the study gives education proposals on school violence to junior high school students, which includes building ecological system to prevent school violence, strengthening family education and setting home-school cooperation.
