| The New Curriculum advocates cultivating necessary geography literacy of future citizen, which include geography knowledge, geographic abilities, geographical point of view, and geographic methods. From all of these, geography knowledge is the fundamental element of the geography literacy and it forms the basis of other elements. Focus on knowledge teaching and make the knowledge one's inner literacy is the first step to cultivate geography literacy of high school students.As an important carrier of knowledge, the textbooks has its unique role in cultivating high school students' geographical knowledge literacy. This article discuss this role of the new edition of the geography textbooks printed by people educational press through theoretical analysis and instance study.And then give some suggestions on how to use the books, which in order to provide good examples to the writing and using of the new textbooks.This article is divided into four partsThe first part is the preface. It describes the research background, the study methods, purpose and the significance.The second part is the theoretical analysis. First it provides two keys to cultivate students' geographical knowledge literacy. Then it is proved that the textbooks have great role in cultivating students'geographical knowledge literacy by analysing the concept, the function and the nature of the textbooks.The third part is the instance study. It choose the new edition of the geography textbooks printed by people educational press as an example to analyse its role in cultivating students' geographical knowledge literacy from the construction of the knowledge framework, the choice of the knowledge and the express way of the knowledge. Meanwhile, It give some suggestions on how to use the new edition of textbooks according to my own expirence.The fourth part is the conclusion of the whole artical. |
