A Comparative Research On High School Mathematics Textbooks Based On The 6W Cognitive Chain

Since the implementation of the new curriculum reform in China,many new standard mathematics textbooks have been published in line with the principle of "more than a standard"Naturally,these textbooks have their own features as their writers have different experience and different understanding for the new curriculum.This paper,based on elective course 2-2 chapter of "derivative and its application" edited in People’s Education Press Edition(PEPE,for short)and Hunan Education Press Edition(HEPE,for short)and the "6W" will compare their differences from six aspects:situation import,content design,content contact,sample and problem sets,the problem of variant and the review summary.Both qualitative and quantitative content analysis will be used so as to spy out the specific writing features of this two versions.so as to provide some inspiration and reference for Chinese high school teachers in their construction of mathematics textbooks and teaching.After the comparative analysis,the author gets the following conclusions:(1)Situation import:Both versions offer rich materials by using a variety of import way;the PEPE has more examples,while the example in HEPE are closer to real life.The former focuses on import from perceptual materials and latter focuses on imports from already learned knowledge.(2)Content design:The introductions in the two versions are enrich,PEPE summarizes comprehensively,and in detail;HEPE is streamlined and interesting;They share the same main content line and have the same teaching hours;their breadth,depth are the same.(3)Content contact:The import and the construction of new knowledge both are based on students’ prior knowledge;PEPE focuses on mathematics touch with life and the application of knowledge;HEPE focuses on the relationship between knowledge,and the guidance of research methods.(4)Sample and problem sets:Problems are set in a layered way,there are more samples and problems in the HEPE than in PEPE;Problems are better set in HEPE’s;PEPE has more open issues in the sample problem.(5)The problem of variant:PEPE’s variant problems are widely distributed more abundant.(6)The review and summary:PEPE’s section summary is more than HEPE’s;The chapter summary overview of the two versions is strong;PEPE’s version of the summary concise and clear as it attaches great importance to the students’ subjectivity;HEPE pays more attention to the research method of instruction.According to the results,the author offers the following suggestions for textbook writing and teaching practices:(1)Enriching the background of the textbook,so as to better stimulate students interest in study.(2)Strengthening the exercises of gradation so as to meet the demands of students at different levels of study.(3)Lowering computational requirements appropriately and attaching great importance to the accumulation of thinking method.Suggestions for teaching,teachers should:(1)Learn from others’ advantages.(2)Attach great importance to the book value,based on textbooks.(3)Attach great importance to the textbook of variant examples and problem settings,cultivate the students’ ability to explore.(4)Strengthen students ability to reflection.
