Teacher Leadership is the powerful catalyst of the Educational reform; Teacher Leadership adds the new dynamic force for the development of the school. Thus it becomes an important world issue in school reform, which is a trend in the United States and Europe, moreover, the United States leads the way in this trend. Either from theoretical or practical level, the United States has a full study of teacher leadership. Therefore, this paper is intended to in-depth study several aspects of the theoretical framework of teacher leadership in the United States from the definition, roles, tasks, skills, factors and training methods of the teacher leadership, which provide a reference for the Chinese theoretical research system improvement and development of teacher leadership; Under the full understanding of the theory of teacher leadership, this paper reviews of the production and development background of the American teacher leadership, and further explores the development trends of the American teacher leadership from the positives and limitations of the behavioral characteristics of different types of teacher leadership, and related case studies in order to provide useful lessons and reference for our teacher leadership development and training.There are five parts in this dissertation:The introduction chapter raises the problem, reviews the related literature both at home and abroad, and based on which, proposes research method and thought;The second chapter presents the theoretical framework of teacher leadership from the writer's own understandings in the full knowledge of the interrelated research in the United States;The third chapter reviews of the shortcomings of traditional managerial teacher leadership, then proposes the development trend from traditional managerial teacher leadership to expert teacher leadership, and further understands the expert teacher leadership practical situation from the positives of the behavioral characteristics of expert teacher leadership and related case study;The fourth chapter analyzes the weakness of expert teacher leadership, then puts forward the development trends from expert teacher leadership to cooperative teacher leadership,transformational teacher leadership, and further understands the practical situation of the two types of teacher leadership from the positives and limitations of the behavioral characteristics of different types of teacher leadership, and related case studies;The fifth chapter summarizes some inspiration for our country based on the study of the theoretical and practical of teacher leadership in the United States.
