Credit Education Of College Students

"Honesty" is regarded as one of the most important traditional virtues in China. There're many old sayings in ancient. Such as "Being a man who is faithful in keeping his word for friends." (《Confucian Analects》) "I do not know how a man without truthfulness is to get on." (《Confucian Analects》). "Honesty makes people intelligent." (《Xun Zi》)."Be honest with yourself, not deceive ourselves ever." (《The Great Learning》)."Men should insist an unwavering commitment to integrity." (《Mencius Lilou》)."Men should build their self-cultivation in a sincere way."(《Xun Zi》). All honesty virtues have an impact on the formation of Chinese social morality and the development deeply. However, with the development of the Chinese economy, people's values of the world have become more variety.For example, egoism, money worship and hedonism have found their way in this material world and affected people deeply. There are many wrong perspectives based on the blossomy economy development, which have done harm to the values of honesty. In reality, people's pursuit of their own interests at times has exceeded all moral limits to an unbridled extent, such as selling counterfeit and shoddy goods, cheating, tax evasion, blackmails and so forth, and there exists materialism which seriously damages and disturbs the normal order of market economy.In pace with the continuously deep-going reform of China higher education system, the new generation of college students presents some new features who do not have credit awareness. And It's would be a challenges for the credit education for college students. As successors of the socialist, the new college students are not doing well in the field, especially in terms of study, economy, communication, jobs, academic, and they still faced with a lot of weaknesses and prominent problems.This paper is based on the survey of the credit education of college students in LanZhou university, engaged in understanding the problems lying in the credit education situation of the college students and the disadvantages of credit education in school. What's more, this paper analyzed the reason with the principle of credit education, and tried to enhance and improve the policy of credit education of college students from the facets of education, supervision, evaluation, rewarding and punishment. In addition, analyzes the cause for this phenomenon and makes suggestions for construction of student credit system in LanZhou university.
