Our china is a nation of poetry. As a fundamental part of Chinese culture, poetry is one of two special forms in literature garden and it is valuable both in art and beauty. Classical poetry teaching plays an important role in Chinese education, and it helps students'thoughts reach a higher level. However, in senior school, education of poetry learning is difficult for students. After studying the papers of Chinese in college Entrance Examination, I found that student get few marks in the part of poetry appreciation. How to train students in poetry appreciation becomes a problem, because we have to care for student's score and prove their true ability as well. Thus, how to combine quality-oriented education with traditional one efficiently is what we should consider carefully.There are four parts apart from foreword and conclusion. The foreword section simply combs domestic educational expert's studying production, some important academic articles or works that have been published recent years. I have classified these articles from different aspects and comments, then represented the advantages and the disadvantages of current national college entrance examination's requestChapter 1 is about the poetry and analysis selection of senior school. In this part I want to talk about poetry's selection in senior school, including the books published by people's Education Press, the compulsive subjects (learn and further study) and the compulsive and selective ones. The author will analyze the selected items in two aspects. Firstly, the translation of traditional poetry to modern one. Secondly, the education of appreciation and theory of the poetry.Chapter 2 is about the recent status of poetry teaching in the senior school. The status of classical poetry in Chinese education is improving step by step in high school. But students still aren't really interested in poetry. From my investigation, we can see that only a few students like poetry, and the students who recite poetries often are even less.According to the sampling survey of several schools, there are for main reasons as follow: Firstly, students have few interest in studying poetry and enthusiasm to learn poetry. Most of them hold an aloof attitude towards studying poetry. Secondly, some students think that learning classical poetry is only to reply the college entrance exam. Their studying motivation is too simple to learn poetry. Thirdly, students have not read enough poetry. Fourthly, there are many problems in poetry teaching. Fifthly, students did not make full use of textbooks effectively. Sixthly, they did not deal with the relationship of ancient poetry and modern poetry appropriately. Seventhly, they did not handle the relationship of textbook and the discussion and practice after class. Eighthly, teachers did not handle the relationship of ancient poetry and modern poetry. Ninthly, teachers did not handle the relationship of the textbook and the discussing &practice after it.Chapter 3 is about methods of Chinese poetry teaching. According to different teaching content, different methods are chose in need. Basically, Classical poetry are classified in follow aspects: intones poetry, chanting poetry, philosophical poetry, narrative poetry, expressing scene poetry, painting poetry, farewell poetry, lovesickness poetry, frontier poetry, rural poetry and so on. In different instance people have different views and feelings; poetry singing good things with both image and spirit; philosophical poetry in which people can get reasons while seeing an object; narrative poetry with less words but abundant meaning; chronological poetry with no trace. We should teach these various kinds of poetry according to their own features instead of talking one for all. The related teaching method should be applied to each kind of poetry. Meanwhile, the introduction of the use of reciting and comparing methods can help us get a better understanding of classical poetry and learn them well.The ending part is mainly about the summary of the whole passage. The teaching of high school classical poetry is just one subject of many teaching curriculums, and we should be responsible for any of them, find out the problem that may arise during teaching process and solve them, by this manner that we can turn the teaching into a healthy developing way. Only in this way can the Chinese teaching in middle school have a renewed and further development.
