Classroom managment has always been an important field in educational psychology. Managment of students misbehaviours in the classroom has become a focus of classroom managment in recent years. A lot of reasearches show that students'problem behaviours have negative effect on teaching activities and students' mental development. Students'misbehaviours can not only interrupt normal teaching activities, but also impede pupils' English learning. If the teacher can't handle it very well, it would make pupils feel stressed and it can also pose threat to student-teacher relationship. As we know, primary English education plays an extremly improtant role in people's whole-life English learning process. Effective managment of pupils'problem behaviours can improve efficiency of English teaching in classroom. At the same time, it is beneficial for students'personal development.Based on domestic and overseas reasearch results, problem misbehaviours and the cause of its formation and present state of teachers'management of misbehaviours in English class have been detailedly investigated in this thesis. The following conclusion have been made through an analysis of all available data:1.Judging from the frequency of problem behaviours occuring in the classroom and the number of students who get involved in it, the most serious problem behaviours are:noisy or illicit talk, playing with some small objects, being distracted easily by other things, inappropriate movement, absent-mindedness, making weird sound, chatting with other students, not being on the task, doing other subject's homework, physical aggression against other students.2.There are two main characteristics of pupils'problem behaviours in English classroom of primary schools:firstly, it existed widely, but in low-grade; secondly, it is concentrated on some types of problem behaviours, which is only found from a few students. Problem behaviours mainly occur at these periods:when the students are asked to do some activities in English classes, the beginning of the class and several miuntes before the class ends. 3.Some English teachers in primary school can take action to handle the puplis' problem bahaviours. Generally speaking, however, teachers'sense of classroom management is vague, and their management abitities are at the low level. So they can not efficiently prevent, acutely sense and timely handle some problem behaviours of pupils. Furthermore, English teachers'methods of handling problem behaviours are without theoretic guidance which has become the sources of their carrer pressure.Aiming at this situation, the author has made some suggestions on how to manage problem beaviours in English classroom, which are expected to contribute to the enhancement of English teachers'overall ability of classroom managment.
