With the development of market-economy, there are increased demands for technical person who possesses professional ability and general competence. Of all the personnel training modes, Chinese traditional vocational education mode especially focuses on the classroom teaching and it also stresses on theorizing the content of the course, formulating the learning style, prevailing credentialism to students'learning result and institutionalizing the school organization. If guided by this mode, the college can not meet the need of cultivating technical person with ability, yet a lot of disadvantages emerge in the process of teaching. In order to solve these problems, the leaders of vocational college begin to reform the traditional personnel training mode, at the same time, they strongly advocate work-integrated learning mode and school-enterprise cooperation mode.Work-integrated learning mode and school-enterprise cooperation mode make their own advantage to promote the quality of personnel training. Some researches on school-enterprise cooperation mode have been carried out abroad, such as double-track pricing system in German, competency based education in Canada, teaching factory in Singapore and community college in America. While in our country, the present situation is far more satisfactory. Our present vocational education takes on the responsibility of training the front-line workers and managers. Therefore the thesis studies the application of new teaching mode; especially advocating work-integrated learning mode and school-enterprise cooperation mode are no time to delay.Through demonstrating the concepts which are relevant to work-integrated learning, the author analyses how to carry out Work-integrated learning mode in the process of vocational college teaching reform and provide precious experience for the future reform of vocational college.This thesis consists of five chapters with chapterl is the introduction part which concerning background includes the significance and reviews the relevant literature on which the present study draws its rationale and methodology. Chapter 2 The literature review has focused on three major areas:theoretical study, nature of work-integrated learning, the practical application of work-integrated learning. The purpose of conducting this research is to improve vocational college students'professional ability and general competence; to decrease the cost of education; to strengthen more versatile and multi-skilled staff; to state necessities and feasibility of the research on work-integrated learning mode.Chapter 3 analyses the current situation of the practical application of work-integrated learning mode in Chinese vocational college. The author shows current theoretical research of work-integrated learning mode in China and the result of carrying out this mode in Chinese vocational college. According to the collection of data and results analysis, the author lists some key points in the practical application of work-integrated learning mode.Chapter 4 describes in great detail the design of the research such as the introduction of the road and bridge engineering, the collection of relevant materials, the investigation of corporation and interview the concerned person. In this study, the platform is "Zhangjiakou traffic transport vocational education corporation" and there are 25 project sponsors including Hebei huitong road and bridge building company. In this way, the reform of personnel training mode realizes amalgamation, bicirculating and working with salary. The experiment lasts six terms. The subjects are 104 students in the Department of road and bridge engineering from Zhangjiakou Vocational Technology College in Hebei Province. Class One is the control class and Class Two is the experimental class. According to the final score and their questionnaire, the students'theoretical level and practical skills in the experimental class is higher than the students in the control class. The out standing achievement of applying work-integrated learning mode is presented, analyzed and discussed in this chapter. Some suggestions are also made on the exiting problems, how to solve them and what kind of measures should be taken.Chapter 5 provides a summary of the whole paper. At first, the government should support school-enterprise cooperation. Second, the author states how to enhance the teachers' general competence. Third, the author presents cooperating with the company is beneficial to each other. At last, the author emphasizes security education is quite important too. The last chapter draws a conclusion to the whole thesis.
