The expansion of college enrollment at the wake of higher education reform adds to employment difficulties for graduates. The same problem of students majoring in agricultural science turns out to be a big concern for higher agricultural education as well. Experts have made in-depth comprehensive studies on this issue, few of which, however, target to majors of animal sciences and technology as well as veterinary medicine. This paper analyzes the status quo and influencing factors of graduates employment samples from China Agricultural University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University and Northwest A&F University. Also, suggestions are to be proposed in hope of providing some knowledge of solving this problem for these students.The paper consists of five parts. The importance of employment to higher agricultural education is put forward in the first part. Then, it illustrated employment of graduates majoring in animal sciences and technology and veterinary medicine, and it's important to solve the difficulties of employment faced by graduates in relevant agricultural majors. Secondly, the problems are displayed based on interviews of teachers responsible for job guidance in four agricultural universities administrated by the Ministry of Education, and relevant data on employment in recent years. This part also reflects the employment status quo of graduates majoring in animal sciences and technology and veterinary medicine based on the employment ratio, entrance administration ratio, the quality of interviewers, grassroots employment situation, types of employment, salary, regional distribution, job satisfaction, individual expectation and professional approval. The study suggests that it is easy for graduates in these majors to get jobs and further education. And the graduates mainly work for enterprises with medium treatment and expectation fit for fact, on which this part concludes the major problems and advantages of employment. In the third part, in-depth analysis of influencing factors on their employment are carried out from the perspectives of bodies like individuals, universities and society. From that, individual factor is the most important factor of employment, followed by family background and social relations, while national policy and system, school education, demand of trade are at the third place. Fourthly, relevant proposals and suggestions on employment problems and influencing factors are given in the light of Government, Enterprises and Agricultural colleges. The last part focuses on conclusions, including features, innovation and weaknesses of this research.
