A Study On The Coordinating Mechanism Of Volunteering Activities Of College Students

Volunteering activities of the college students is a dynamic part of spiritual construction in college. What kind of people the higher education should make of the college students has long been a primary issue in higher education? Launched by the Central Committee of the Youth League, the volunteering campaign conforms to the characteristics of contemporary youngsters with an emphasis on cultivating their ability of creativeness and spontaneity. What the volunteers do is helping others, but this in turn benefits them too. Because on the one hand, participation in the volunteering activities is conducive to improving their overall ability; on the other hand, this also helps to enhance their sense of social responsibility. And what they have done have already won the praise of the whole society.Nevertheless, we need also to be aware of the demerits in the volunteering activities of college students which are typically reflected in their lack of a coordinating mechanism, a disconnection between their activities and their individual needs. This thesis makes an exploration into the possible measures to improving the coordinating mechanism of the volunteering activities of college students.This thesis falls into four sections:Section One: a brief introduction on the definition, traits, history and present situation of volunteering activity, evolvement as well as the feature of volunteering activities of college students. This would help us better understand the volunteering activities.Section Two: Some problems in the contemporary volunteering activities of college students, such as the incompatibility of opportunity to participate, program integration etc through an in-depth the present situation of the volunteering activities of college students.Section three: Drawing useful and enlightening experience from the coordinating mechanism of volunteering activities in foreign countries will be presented in this part, which will serve as a reference for us in our attempt to explore a new frontier of volunteering activities of college students in chinaSection four is concerned with the suggestion, which is also the key part in this thesis. Six suggestions are put forth from the perspective .They are the effectiveness of ideological education in volunteer activities to improve coordination and capacity, volunteer activities and social atmosphere of the need to coordinate, volunteer activities with the possibility of coordinated community, volunteer activities in harmony with the teaching arrangements, volunteer activities with the project followed by progressive, institutional arrangements for volunteer activities with a combination of individual voluntary. Through research, we can carry out the volunteer activities, and the students can teach themselves and improve their dedication. So we can achieve the goals that are the development of the students and the rewards of the society.
