With the method of field work of anthropology, the thesis, from the angle of social gender, takes modern science and technology extension as breakthrough to carry on the detailed investigation into the fact who the women accept and use throwing rice-seedling, whom of the Yao from the Dongmian village of Gongcheng County, Guangxi. The thesis believe, Dongmian village's women obtain the technical knowledge of throwing rice-seedling mainly from two ways. One way is through the interpersonal exchange network, including the villagers, the relatives, the friends. Another way is with the aid of mass media dissemination such as newspaper, broadcasting station, television station and so on.On the contrary, in organized and collective dissemination activities of modern agriculture knowledge, they are in a weak position. By diagnosing the cases of three types of family, some of whom completely accept the technology, some of whom originally accept but refuse it afterwards, and some of whom totally don't accept it, it's concluded that the reason why women use the technology of throwing rice-seedling is related with one's cultural level, with the benefit obligation, and with the popularized degree. The thesis further analysis shows that the women cannot be occupied with the technology resource, and have their own innovative ability in the actual operation, but they are passive and dependent in the technical use in the process of the agricultural technology extension, which shows that during the process of the technology extension in the countryside, the social gender being neglected is a extremely obvious problem.Based on it, the author proposes to supplement advantageously the existing agricultural technology extension patterns with the model of participatory technical extension with gender sensitivity. This way, the female villagers will be able to become the ones, who can both receive the agricultural technologies and contribute to the local knowledge. In addition, the dissertation will emphasize that to enhance rural women's years of schooling is the key for the development of rural areas.
