Study On Legal Issues Of Agricultural Trade In The WTO

The international agricultural products trade is basically not bound by the GATT system. The Agricultural Agreement of WTO established in Uruguay Round that set up a trade regulation focused on market access, export subsidy and domestic support. It makes agricultural products trade involved in WTO legal frame. However, it is only the first step for Liberalization trade .According to twentieth item of WTO Agricultural Agreement, every member in WTO starts a new round talk. After Cancun Conference's failure in 2003, and Hong Kong Conference's little progress in 2005, it's the critical time for talks.As an important country in agricultural trade, China must understand and master the rules during agricultural trade. This will make great contributions on coping with Liberalization of agricultural products trade within WTO system. Meanwhile, there will be great historical significance for China to handle the right to make out rules in the new round talk, in order to protect the benefits soundly of China. Therefore, on the basis of legal rules of WTO agricultural trade, together with the focus and disappointment in the new round talks, it is meaningful both on theory and on practice to discuss Chinese standpoint in the new round talk.Apart from the introduction and conclusion here, this thesis is divided into four parts.Chapters One is about the background of establishment of legal system of agricultural products trade in WTO .One of the background is GATT's futile restriction to agricultural products trade ,So it has been necessary and proper to set up a new agricultural products trade system ; and the other background is that big agricultural products trade counties all adopt trade protection Policy which causes domestic crisis ,and distorted international agricultural products trade, So Liberalization agricultural products trade has been imperative .Chapter Two is about the specific analysis to legal regulation of WTO...
