Regulation By Law On Food Safety

Food safety problem, which is related to people's health and every country's development stability, become the whole world problem that every government and consumer pay the utmost attention to in the past few years. The current food safety situation of our country that the food poisoning incidents happen frequently makes the law react to it. The characteristics of food safety also need regulating.This paper analyses several basic conceptions first in the purpose of providing a logic premise for the following content. After clarifying the view that it is necessary to regulate food safety problem by law, the paper analyses the present food safety legal system in our country. Obviously, there are quite a few drawbacks both in legislating and enforcing the law related to food safety. Thereafter, the paper has introduced experience of other developed countries in the third part. Depend on our country's condition, this paper puts forward the approaches, principles, and general ideas of construction, precedence and emphasis of the improvement of food safety legislation. The approaches for food safety regulation we should choose is constructing a main law in food safety, clarifying each supervisor's authority and responsibility.The emphasis of the improvement of food safety legislation is: food safety standard, system of market accessing system of food safety, safety regulation of novel food, information system of food safety, label regulation of food nutrition and content. I hope the paper will be helpful to food safety legislation in our country.
