China’s Food Safety Supervision Legal Countermeasure Research

Food is the basic material conditions of people’s survival and development. Foodsafety issues are related to people ’s health safety and can directly affect the orderlydevelopment of the market economy and stability of society. In recent years, China’sfood safety incidents continue to occur and the status is not optimistic.The occurrence offood safety incidents not only seriously affected the people’s health, but also caused greatdisturbance on economic development, political stability and social peace.For thefrequent occurrence of food safety problems, the government strengthened the legalprovisions and theoretical innovation on food safety regulation, which improved thestatus of China’s food safety supervision. But China’s food safety regulatory system stillexist many problems.The occurrence of food safety incidents have many reasons, including the issue offood safety regulatory system,which is a very important factor.Food safety regulatorysystem involves three important element, namely, the legal system of food safetyregulation,food safety regulators and specific regime of food safety regulation.This paperresearches three aspects: Firstly, the status of China’s food safety regulatory system andthe shortcomings of the regulatory system; Secondly, critical analysis and reference of theforeign food safety regulatory system; Finally, suggestions and reforms to our food safetyregulatory system.
