When people thinks back of the crisis derived from the process of the industrializing, the limitation of the traditional development was recognized. Eco-urbanization is an implement of the idea of sustainable development, is an inevitable choice to practise the strategy of sustainable development.The whole paper is about forty thousand words, and It includes seven parts except the concluding. Many kinds of information were introduced such as the background of eco-city, the basic theories of eco-city, the indexes for the construction of eco-city, and the assessment of eco-city. The background of eco-planning, the concept of eco-city and the basic frame of this thesis were introduced in part 1 and 2. Part 3 explained the basic theories of eco-city including the dissipation frames, sustainable development, eco-planning, urban ecology. The main contents and approaches of eco-planning were mentioned along with the analyses of the conditions of WenZhou city's eco-planning, part 4 introduced the lately study about the index system of eco-planning and the principle of selection, and the index system of Wenzhou city's eco-planning was designed depending on correlative analysis and the selection in 39 indexes. In part 5, WenZhou city was assessed using the indexes of eco-planning which was established depending on the assessment model. Part 6 contains the aim, principles and the countermeasures of WenZhou city's eco-planning. Conclusion of this study and the expectation about it was represented in part 7.Having analyzed the nature, described the quantities, we get the conclusion that at present the starting point of urban construction ecological is getting higher relatively in the city of Wenzhou, the foundation is comparatively steady, and we point out the goal of the ecological urban construction will be to turn Wenzhou into a city with the mountains and rivers in the interdependent, an international city of light industry with intensive circulation, so harmonious intergrowth in the future will appear in this city.
