"Ba" Culture And Tourism In The Region Of Three Gorges

Culture is the soul of tourism. Especially distinctive regional culture is the advantageous condition that the tourist site develops its tourism. In tourist planning and exploitation, regional culture is the important component. it is usually utilized in such fields as the localization of tourist theme, the moulding of tourist image, the exploitating and planning of tourist products and commodities, the marketing of tourist products.Gorges is not only the tourist attraction of national-level scenery , but also a long corridor of culture and arts. it is made up of various culture types. Among numerous culture types of the tourist region of Three Gorges,"Ba" culture is the most profound and influential. It has far-reaching influence on the continuity of history and culture, the traditions and customs, the ideology of people in the region of Three Gorges. Zhongxian County is centered in the district of Three Gorges, where "Ba" culture possessed an important historical status in ancient times.The thesis will be developed about "Ba" culture from the following three aspects: its significance in the region of Three Gorges, its characteristics and its tourist development at Zhongxian county.The thesis comprises three chapters. Chapter 1: The author gives a briefintroduction on the influence of the regional culture to the development of tourism, the relevant definition and connotation of the culture in the district of Three Gorges, and the author puts forward that Ba culture is the important one in the process of the historical development of the culture in the region of Three Gorges from the respects of the origin of "Ba" people .their activity center ground and the influence to the culture of Three Gorges. Chapter 2: Based on a brief introduction to the geographical position, historical evolution of Zhongxian county, the analysis is focused on the significant position of "Ba" culture at Zhongxian county in that of Three Gorges region, and is supplemented by comparing "Ba" culture with other types of culture at Zhongxian county to stress the advantage of "Ba" culture. Chapter 3: A case-study of the tourism of "Ba" culture at Zhongxian county in Chongqing municipality, the significance, potentiality and restrictive factors are analysed briefly, and some suggestions about the development of "Ba" culture in Zhongxian county are presented.
