As a laboratory for future entrepreneur, management simulation can produce an experiential environment, in which the trainee could make changes of learning and behavior according to given objectives, therefore, it can make the trainee learn knowledge, improve skills, and observe the management behavior in this process. Management simulation has been applied widely in the West but is still in its discovering and developing phase in China. Along with the need for China's WTO accessing and modern enterprise management, it is an urgent question to cultivate Chinese highly qualified managers. Based on these backgrounds and the study on the relative theories from abroad, the paper studies the management simulation systematically and emphasized on its experiential situation, design, application and evaluation and so on.The paper studies management simulation in experiential situation, and it introduces Kolb's experiential learning model as the basic theory of management simulation. It basically discusses the issues about the construction of experiential situation, the design of management simulation and management simulation evaluation and studies the management games, which are applied frequently in enterprise training, as the special form in management simulation.The paper discusses two important concepts in experiential situation, which are experiential learning and experiential training, analyzes the relationship between them, and studies the management simulation in these two categories. Then it quotes Kolb's theory into the entire management simulation process. The emphasis of this paper is the analysis of the design, application and evaluation of management simulation. It analyses the advantages of management simulation in training methods; expatiates the realism of management simulation; provides an integrated model in management simulation designing process, discusses the general design procedures and points out some problems which need more attention in the design and application process; classifies the management games as the game forms of management simulation according to the realism of management simulation and uses the design theory of management simulation as the guide for the design of management games; evaluates the management simulation with two approaches-inside and outside evaluation, and provides basic evaluation criterions and procedures for deeper study of management simulation; at last, the paper gives some suggestions of the development of management simulation in China.
