Combined with the Iraq War in 2003, this thesis expounds on the background in which the concept of a harmonious world came into being and the connotations of it, and demonstrates the internal connection between the Iraq War and the construction of the harmonious world. The aim of the harmonious world is to create a world where all countries develop, prosper, and keep in peace, including five perspectives: politically, establishing peaceful, fair, effective and democratic multi-lateralism; economically, promoting mutual development by means of open, fair, nondiscriminatory multi-lateral trade system; culturally, having a mutual respect, tolerance and understanding in terms of civilizations, cultures and systems; strengthening the United Nations by reformation; advocating and securing the human rights actively and entitling all people to enjoy equal opportunities and rights to develop in a comprehensive way.This thesis analyzes the causes and influences of Iraq War from many angles in four chapters, and based on this, draws a conclusion that the internal connection between the Iraq War and the theories of the harmonious world exists and is worth discussing.The first chapter gives a simple account of Iraq War and the concept of a harmonious world; the second chapter demonstrates the importance and historic necessity of creating a harmonious world and that the internal connection between the war and the construction of a harmonious world does exist; the third chapter mainly discusses the possibility of constructing a harmonious world by an detailed analysis of Iraq War, with the idea come up with that the construction of a harmonious world goes with the tide of historic development and will be accepted world-widely in spite of the hardships and difficulties in the course of it; the fourth one probes into the implications of the Iraq War which may be of great help to the construction of a harmonious world, the challenges and opportunities which the construction of a harmonious world may be faced with, and the suggestions and solutions to constructing a harmonious world, including anti-hegemonism, the establishment of new views of reciprocal cooperation and national security, and the formation of a mechanism to promote dispute-settling. |
