On October 9,2009, The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for some personal factors. He is a man with celebrity effect and affinity. His vision of a world without nuclear weapons and a world with multi-partners is closely linked to peaceful development. When Obama came into power, he abandoned Bush's Unilateralism and took active attitude towards to solve the global problems such as reducing nuclear weapons, coping with climate changes, boosting Middle-East Peace Process. But the American factors are the key to Obama's winning. Although the war in Afghanistan and Iraq did harm to American image and the financial crisis worsened American international status, America still plays the decisive role in the world. America's mightiness and leading status decides on the world's present and future. As the only superpower in the world, America should take on more responsibility and obligation to maintain the global peace. With the Nobel Peace Prize, Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to encourage Obama to develop his diplomacy which is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population. The Peace Prize rests committee's hopes and encouragement on Obama. If Obama and America can't fulfill their peaceful promise, the Nobel Peace Prize will lose its practical meaning..
