Yan'an Method Of Ideological And Political Education

Yan'an period is one of the fruitful and important periods for the ideological and political education of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Under conditions of extreme hardship, CPC not only created and accumulated lots of fresh and valuable experience, but also formed a set of distinctive and effective methodology for the ideological and political education. During Yan'an period, methods for ideological and political education were combined with specific conditions and educational laws, which ensured the smoothness of each work as well as the ideological and political education, enriched the experience and theories in CPC's ideological and political education, and laid a solid foundation for it. Hence, it has great historic and practical significance discussing the history of theories & methods for ideological and political education through Yan'an period.This thesis includes three parts in the following: scientifically analyzing the contents of the CPC's ideological and political education and its methods during Yan'an period combined with modern methods and theories; systematically summarizing its laws, characteristics and implications; scientifically studying some useful and successful experience on ideological and political education through Yan'an period with a significant role in strengthening the CPC's ideological and political education at new periods.As cores of this paper, the basic contents and characteristics of ideological and political education during Yan'an period respectively present seven methods, such as methods by enlightenment and discussion, by consolidation of the CPC and ratification of its style of work, by democratic education, by example education, and etc.. The features of these methods further paraphrase the regular patterns of these educational methods and their relationships through Yan'an period.The third part of this paper summarizes the intrinsic mechanism of ideological and political education by studying the causes of successful method application in ideological and political education during Yan'an period, involving the CPC's emphasis on the leadership of ideological and political education; and the formation of a multidimensional educational methodology from a multi-educational-based & rich educational contents-based starting point in light of integrating theory with practice.In conclusion, it will be with more sense of up-to-datedness, pertinence and proactively for the engagement in the study on theories and methods for ideological and political education at new periods, and the guidance for the current practice of ideological and political education to study the methods for ideological and political education during Yan'an period.
