| The importance of science-technology talents is more and more remarkable along with the advancement of science technology, and all countries and areas have adopted various measures to attract and cultivate the science-technology talents. But the talents' growth process is the first thing that the talents training department should know. On this practical basis and with experiences learned from the literature at home and abroad, a serious study was done in this paper on the characteristic of science-technology talents and their growth rule through mathematical statistics, questionnaire and modern decision science.Based on the survey results in some high schools of Sichuan province, a comparative analysis was made in the study on the science-technology talents' main characteristic, which include reaction, team idea, science and technology ability, science and technology potential, science-technology accomplishment and the occupation career planning etc. We found that there are five stages in the science-technology talents' growth process, such as, the preparation stage, adaptation stage, impact and stabilization stage, stagnation and withdrawal stage, and continued professional growth stage. Each stage reflects the different characteristic behavior of the talents. But the stage theory is descriptive and fails to account fully for movement from one stage into another; within the stability of each stage is relative. On this theoretical foundation, a practical ability growth model was build based on the Growth Curve Theory, which could find the turning point of the talents' growth process. And the HR department can draw up the training schemes for the science-technology talents according to their different stage characteristic and their needs. In the end, we analyzed the state of science-technology talents in Sichuan province, and some preliminary policy suggestions are given based our research result. The result and finding in this research can be used to analyze the talents' turning period and their needs, which can make our HR management methodsmore scientific and reasonable. |
