The Study On ASEAN Regional Security Regime

Since signing Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asiain 1976, ASEAN states have constructed a sort of security regime, in core of the Treaty. This security regime offers ASEAN states principles, norms and rules, which exert an influence on maintaining security in Southeast Asia and constructing ASEAN Security Community. The security regime is also applied in Asia-Pacific, such as ASEAN founding ASEAN Regional Forum and China joining the Treaty. But scholars in studying security issues in Southeast Asia, focus on ASEAN security perspective, stratagem and cooperation. Few of them pays attention to ASEAN constructing security regime. So I, in context of studying, discuss ASEAN Regional Security Regime from international relations theory, for example, international regime and constructism in the dissertation, i.e. demonstrate the meaning of concept, content and characteristic of ASEAN Security Regime from the concept of international regime, discuss the value of ASEAN Security Regime from strong cognitivists, and discuss the extension of ASEAN Security Regime from development of international regime.
