Large number of corporate strategic alliances (CSAs) has been emerging since 1980s in response to the dual pressure of rapid technological change and increased internationalization of capital, production and knowledge. Now, CSAs has been increasing explosively and formed sophisticated networks in marco level. CSAs, a kind of cooperative and competitive organization, constitutes a significant tool for firms to reduce costs, share risks, maintain flexibility and utilize external resources. Meanwhile, CSAs' organizational instability and high mortality arising from uncertainty regarding a partner' s behavior and absence of sufficient authority has been puzzling practitioners very much. So, it is very important to strengthen CSAs' management. At present, it is inevitable for domestic and multinational firms to compete and cooperate one another after China's accession into WTO. More and more domestic enterprises are trying to regard alliance as the strategic sharp weapon to dissolve the market risk, win the competition advantage. However, the corporate strategic alliances of our country is still in fast developing stage at present, still lacks experience of the actual combat and exists a great deal of difficulty in the developing. As a result, the significance is straightforward for us to explore the theoretical and practical issues on CSAs. This paper aims at studying the theory and practice of the strategic alliance, putting forward our countermeasures, then guiding the development of the strategic alliance of our country.This paper includes five parts. First part introduces the economics foundation of corporate strategic alliances. The second part is about the outline of corporate strategic alliances. The third part describes market performance of corporate strategic alliances. The forth part introduce some CSAs' cases of typical industries. And the last part, the key part in this paper, is about the countermeasures of our enterprises. |
