Competition, as the basic characteristic of the market-oriented economy, is the process in which economic entities can realize their economic interests and achieve their established goals. As a kind of market behavior, competition penetrates all the market activities made by the market entities, accordingly, various specialists in economics have been creating different theories on competition at different stages. This thesis attempts to introduce co-opetition theory into port industry of our country under new economic conditions.The structure of this thesis is as follows:Firstly, the thesis gives a review of academic researches on business competition, and presents the concepts about competition contained in the existing studies, then introduces the co-opetition theory consequently.Secondly, the thesis gives a systematic analysis about the competition and cooperation of Chinese main ports, thereby, points out the existing problems in their competition and cooperation, and then analyzes the necessity of co-opetition.Thirdly, the thesis studies the implementation fashion of co-opetition among Chinese main port enterprises under the new economic trends, and proposes several solutions of strategic alliance among port enterprises.Finally, the thesis offers a number of proposals of the co-opetition among main port enterprises along the Bohai Gulf.The emphasis of this thesis is the introduction of the new concept of co-opetition among port enterprises, and the tentative study on the implementation methods of co-opetition.
