The Study Of Computer Aided Financial Management

Under the era of worldwide keen competition and rapid development of computer technology nowadays, it is of significant value to study how to apply modern computer technology to advanced financial management theories and methods in order to improve the competitiveness and economic efficiency of enterprises.Starting with analyzing the crucial need and feasibility of scientific and computer aided financial management, this paper followed with the study of various methods in accomplishing financial management functions under computer environment, including financial accounting software, financial management information system (FMIS) and Excel spreadsheet. Then, it specifically and intensively studied the use of FMIS and Excel in achieving financial management functions, aiming at finding the ways to promote scientific and computer aided financial management, assist the management in making proper decisions and maximize the economic efficiency of enterprises.Regarding the use of FMIS in financial management, this paper studied how it can be achieved through the analysis of the three main sub-systems: budget management, fund management and decision support. But at the same time, this paper pointed out that presently the functions and the flexibility of FMIS are still not quite adequate and satisfactory. It is of practical significance of using Excel which is powerful in data processing and analysis, highly flexible and compatible, and widely used, to strengthen the works of financial management. Thus, one distinctive feature of this paper is providing a lot of typical examples to illustrate the use of Excel in accomplishing financial management functions, hoping that it could be of some help to the research on improving the financial management of the enterprises of our country.
