| Agricultural development in China has come into a new historic stage since the middle of 1990s: supply and demand of agricultural products is basic equilibrium and enough to spare in harvest years. Improving production quality, optimizing agricultural structure and increasing farmers' income are given more attention. In the new stage, how to improve agricultural economic performance and stabilize agriculture as a foundation become a key problem which need to be solved thoughtfully. Based on elementary knowledge of economics and statistics and results of internal and external research for reference, the paper studies agricultural economic performance and influence factors thoroughly, and establishes the quota system of evaluating agricultural economic performance by combining qualitative analyses and quantitative analyses. The paper includes 7 chapters which in turn make up 4 parts.Part I (chapter 1) introduces the purpose and essentiality of studying the problem and internal and external research trends of agricultural economic performance.Part II (chapter2 & 3) discusses the fundament theory of agricultural performance and its application. Chapter 2 studies the theoretical framework about the concept, connotation, classification, formation and measurement of agricultural performance; then some problems of quota system of evaluating agricultural performance are considered; finally quota system of evaluating agricultural performance is established. In chaper3, the author provides empirical evidence in Binzhou, which is a typical North china area and presents the average level of agricultural and rural economic status of China, to expound definition, calculation method and influence factors of total factor productivity (TFP).Part III (chapter4) analyses quantitatively trend, construction and influencing factors of agricultural product cost and studies the relationshipbetween agricultural product cost and agricultural performance, then gives some ways to low agricultural product cost.PartIV(chapter5, 6&7) focuses on the ways of enhancing agricultural performance. Chapter 5 probes into the relationship between agricultural performance and its structure. One of the most important ways of enhancing agricultural performance is to allocate resources among different sectors of agriculture, namely agricultural and rural restructuring, Chapter 6 discusses agricultural technological change economic performance. Technological change is an advance in knowledge and result in a change in the production function. A high rate of technological change is likely to result in a high rate of growth of productivity. This chapter discusses the concept, measurement and the way of enhancing agricultural performance of technological change. Chapter 7 inquires into agricultural performance of scale. Firstly, the author discusses the concept of economic scale, returns of scale and economic performance of scale; then studies the measurement of economic performance of scale; finally analyses the level of economic performance of scale of farm households in Binzhou. |
