Research On The Domestic Container Transport Developing Strategy Of Port Of Dalian

Port of Dalian commenced domestic container operation service since 1998 . At that time, we only provided service for QingDao Shipping Lines and NanQing Container Lines. CS and COSCO, which are the biggest shipping lines in China, have deployed their vessels calling at Dalian and commenced their domestic container service. Domestic container volume handled in Dalian has risen quickly. The volume has raised 180000TEU from 30000 TEU handled in 1998 to 210000 TEU handled in 2001. But the rising rate has been behind the other ports after 2000. Along with the increasing of the vessels, effect of the inland economy as well as the competition with the port around Dalian , it will face more and more new competition and challenge. Therefore, facing to the situation , analyzing the inner and outer conditions and finding out the problem of domestic container developing in Dalian, it is very important for Dalian to make out the development planning of domestic container transport.This research report at Chapter 1 summarizes the development of the international container transport and the development of the container operation in port. Chapter 2 analyses the development and current situation of domestic container transport in China. Chapter 3 analyses the domestic container transport situation in Dalian.
