Technology innovation belongs to 'labor' category and is the social practice to realize essential power of human being. As social activity, the amplifying of technology innovation' functions is proceeding in certain society system operation. It must satisfy the requirement from both sound society operation and society coordination and development. According to whether the society function satisfies this requirement, it could be divided into two society functions which are contrary in nature.......the affirmative function and the negative function.Being an integration, society can be understood from politics field, economy field, culture field and social life field. And the society functions of technology innovation direct to the four layers.As far as affirmative function is concerned, technology innovation improves country's integral power in politics field; it promotes the adjustment of industry structure in economy field; it prospers social culture in culture field; it improves the living quality in social life field.As far as negative function is concerned, technology innovation realizes the technology domination function in politics field because technology rises to ideology level; in economy field, it leads to technology alienation, destroys natural environment and handicaps the spreading and producing of new knowledge; in culture field, it leads to the conflict between utilizationism and the intrinsic value of technology and the conflict between foreign culture and native culture; in social life field, it accelerates labor alienation, prevents human beings from developing and leads to social conflicts.On the aspect about how to understand the society negative function of technology innovation, we should realize that it is technology that advances the human society. To solve the society negative function of technology innovation, we still need to depend on the technology innovation.
