Analyses Of Russian Diplomatic Strategy In The New Century

During the period of the Post-Cold War, Russia is a focus over which international society shows great concerns. After ten year's transformation of society, Russia makes its determination that stability is the most important task. Especially in the year of 2000, led by Vladimir Putin, Russia decides to revitalize its awe-inspiring bearing. As a superpower, the adjustment of Russian diplomatic strategy is so conspicuous that most of other countries pay great attention to it and that they adjust their policies accordingly. As to China, China is Russia's neighbour and they are strategic cooperative partners in the 21st century. Therefore, it is vital for China to concern and study Russian diplomatic strategy in order to maximize China's national interests.The dissertation is composed of five parts. In the first part, it deals with the formation of Russian diplomatic strategy. In the second part, it analyzes the main goals and characteristics of Russian diplomatic strategy. The author argues that developing economy, the status of superpower and maintaining national interests constitute the main goals of Russian diplomatic strategy. In the third part, it elaborates on the factors, which are of great importance for the formation of Russian diplomatic strategy, including durable, domestic political and international factors. In the fourth part, the author expounds the factors which restrain the formation of Russian diplomatic strategy. They consist of internal factors such as the level political development, economic strength and external factors such as U.S.A, NATO'S eastern enlargement, centrifugal tendency of the Commonwealth of Independence, European Union and eastern countries, Lastly, the dissertation discusses the influences of Russian diplomatic strategy on Sino-Russian relationship.The dissertation's innovation is as follows: (l)the dissertation analyzes Russian diplomatic strategy from the visual angles of transformation of institution, historical culture and political culture;(2) the analyses of Russian diplomatic strategy are systematical and comprehensive.
