On the theoretic basis a large amount of achievements have been accumulated on the human capital theory, and a common understanding has been shared in the relationship between human capital investment and economic development, which shows that education investment plays an important role in economic development. However, until recently, the research on human capital theory is basically confined to the macroeconomic aspect, while rarely touches on the households, the microeconomic subject. Based on the analysis of the return to human capital investment, this thesis conducts a survey on the changes of rural and urban households investment behavior over education, health and labor migration, then some cultural, social and economic reasons are presented to explain the paradox between the increase of investment and the decrease of return to the capital investment. Finally in the conclusion part, the thesis puts forward several proposals on how to perfect the human capital investment environment. |
