Since 1920, she set up in prose writing. The publication of her prose selection The Letters to Little Readers, The Essays Written in Mountain Area and My Experience .moreover, these essays make her one of the important founders of modern expressive-narrative prose. To some extent, her achievement on prose is higher than novels and poems. During this period, her prose writing originates from her careful thoughts about nature, society, family and life. She tries her best to solve the torture of reality in the world with love and sympathy. Thus, the love, philosophy of love, in her early prose is formed. Guided by this thought of philosophy, maternal love, friendship, childhood and nature become the carrier and imago which convey love and beauty. She continues writing prose in the latter part of her life and believes in survival philosophy,"life begins at 80 years old"and"everything is from love". She conveys her understanding and perception freely through her prose. Her works become pure in the latter part of her life. It comes from her hard experience. On one hand, it is the perception of man's world; on the other hand, modification in her earlier works is avoided. Her works during that period are filled with Genuine knowledge and direct statements, such as, About Men, How to Do If No Intellectuals , My Request , Meng Zi and Democracy, and so on. These works express her integrity, hatred to evil, love and responsibility. Either her prose, essays, or prefaces and postscripts for others are written when inspired. Her works are fluent and graceful. During this period, puerility, wisdom, humor and seriousness are freely embodied. Some works in the latter part of her life are in tune with the times, but it is an interpretation for that times and main-stream words. From the works in her later years, it can be found that Chinese intellectuals in modern times experience ups and downs, conform to times, celebrate new life and manifest oneself. From these works, the developing process of the author's"the philosophy of love"can be found, and her perception and cognition to changing times and social development can be perceived. That is to say, Bing Xin's prose works in her later life not only record the historical process of Chinese intellectuals merging with society, but also reflect the thoughts development of contemporary intellectuals.
