The reform of college English teaching mode requires teachers to make use of the modern information technology and adopt the mode with computer and classroom English teaching so as to make teaching free from the limitation of time and place, and help students improve their autonomous learning abilitiy and form their individuation development. At present, there are some problems in college English listening teaching, such as the simplex teaching mode, lacking interactive communications, heavy teaching tasks which hardly are finished in limited time, unscientific evaluating ways and so on. College English listening teaching based on Moodle platform with the teacher as the conductor and the student as the main body applies modern information technology in the teaching process and prompts the formation of interactive teaching with computer and classroom English teaching. There are many strongpoints in this teaching, such as diverse teaching modes, all-round cooperations and communications, the tracking learning in the whole course, scientific evaluating ways and so on. It can help listening teachers deal with presents problems in the teaching and train individual and autonomous students.The author has done the application research of college English listening teaching based on Moodle platform in Chongqing Nanfang Translators College of SISU. Students went through three stages:the autonomous learning, the cooperation and communication, and the test and evaluation. After the teaching practice in one term, the author has verified the teaching effect by two ways which are the personal interview and questionnaire survey. This teaching mode is praised by teachers and students in the interaction of the course interface, the optimization of course design, the sociality of course activities and the participation of teachers and students. It has helped listening teachers deal with teaching problems in the past and improve teaching efficiency and effect. It also has helped students improve their interest, abilities in the autonomous learning and overall listening levels.At last, by the practice of teaching, the author will give four suggestions in college English listening teaching based on Moodle. In the application, necessary teaching resources should be provided, diverse teaching contents should be selected, the function of instruction and supervision from teachers should be enhanced and the all-round cooperation learning in students should be prompted. The author wishes college English listening teaching on Moodle will be spread to other fields, and the systemic and instructive college English listening teaching mode will be formed and improved in the future.
