Between Individuality And Publicity: The Core Of Hermeneutical Thought Of "Si Ku Quan Shu Zong Mu"

"Si Ku Quan Shu Zong Mu"(《四库全书总目》)as an integrator of the ancient Chinese hermeneutical thought, contains rich and broad hermeneutical thought and theory. Overall speaking, the hermeneutical thought of "Zong Mu"(《总目》)is consistently and distinctive characteristics, regarding "Fan Li"(《凡例》)as the guiding ideology. That is both pursuit of individuality also stressing the publicity of interpretation, in preference between the two without any extreme, and it stands to explain that the achievements of the publicity is from the individuality of hermeneutical, also, the individuality must be based on and be attributed to the publicity. This paper focusing on the spirit and its representation of "Zong Mu", through exploring the awareness and understanding of "Zong Mu" about individuality and publicity of interpretation, and it how to handle its relationship between the two, reveals the core of its hermeneutical thought. The main text expands discussion around the following four aspects.First, the introduction analyses the current situation on hermeneutical thought of "Zong Mu" which is serious shortage at home and abroad, and highlights its important research value.Second, the first chapter is to define the general hermeneutical tendency about "Zong Mu". "Zong Mu" attaches importance to Han Studies through reflection and criticism to Neo-Confucianism of Song Dynasty. However, it did not specifically value the former more than the latter, but established a Reconciliation of the Han Sung and Han-based general tendency. This is not only the development need of the academic system itself, but also by political factors and by the result of each contain between archives of "Si Ku"(四库馆臣).In essence, it is decided by the spirit of its hermeneutical thought.Third, the second Chapter inspects with "ZiDe"("自得")concept as the center, to see that "Zong Mu" emphasis on the interpretation of individuality. "ZiDe" is different from the concept of modern innovation, which mainly refers to the different understanding and interpretation, publicizing the individuality. "Zong Mu" consciously inherits the "ZiDe" theory of traditional Chinese hermeneutical theory and extremely favors the interpretation of "ZiDe", which certainly admits its relative and practical value to individual life, and elucidates it into an interpretation theory about highly respecting the individual diversity and extremely promoting the individual freedom of interpretation.Fourth, the third chapter inspects with "ShiXue"("实学")appeal as the center, to see that "Zong Mu" pursue the publicity of interpretation. Under the context that the trend of study of "ShiXue" concept is popular in Qing era, "Zong Mu" emphasizes "knowledge" and "practical utility" of interpretation, which reflects the emphasis and pursuit to the publicity of interpretation. However, too much emphasis on the expression in the interpretation of the ruler's will, blind faith to the classic texts and the shrinking of the constructed public space, courses that the publicity of hermeneutical is not enough, so that the individuality and the publicity of "Zong Mu" are unable to achieve harmony, just only between the two.
