Puccini is recognized as the most great opera composer after Verdi. His works are welcomed by people, and have a great importance in the world musical stage. The works such as"Tosca", "La Boheme", "Turandot" are the repertoires in the world opera stage with prolonged prosperous. The opera creation of Puccini came into being under the influence of the Verism literature in Italy. His works are near to the real life, without evading the small subject and select materials strictly, endow the protagonist's sincere and passionate personality, and give sympathy and mercy to the weak that are subject to insult.Most of the opera works of Puccini is named by the female dramatis personae and mainly express the inner motional world of the tender female who sacrifices for love, however, the author think that it is also important to analyze the musical and theatre image of the dramatis personae. This thesis is based on the three typical works, namely, "Tosca", "La Boheme", "Turandot", discusses musical and theatre image of the hero in details, with the aim to hold well the inner feeling of the characters in order to guide the re-creation of vocality singing.This thesis consists of four chapters:Chapter 1 mainly introduces the life and creation of musical works of Puccini, represents the outstanding accomplishments he made in the opera, foreshadowing for the analysis of the image of dramatis personae.Chapter 2 presents the source of verism opera and its influence to the creation of Puccini. It has important meaning in analyzing the musical and theatre image features of dramatis personae in opera.Chapter 3 analyzes respectively Cavaradossi, Rodolfo and Calaf in "Tosca","La Boheme", "Turandot", and analyzes their personalities and Psychology States, so as to make the singers show the inner feeling of dramatis personae and guide the vocality singing.Chapter 4 discusses the musical and theatre image of dramatis personae in the above three operas. During the specific analysis process, the focus is on the music that is related to the dramatis personae, gives a summary of the three characters musical images. Combined with the analysis of the theater image of the dramatis personae in chapter 3 to make the singers express the characters perfectly and correctly.By looking information, the author finds that the articles studying the opera roles of Puccini mainly focus on the analysis of the single one, lacking of the comparison in lateral shifting. This thesis discusses the roles once more, and adds the comparison of the roles'musical and theatre images, hoping to improve the singers'recognition of the different characteristics and be more proper in singing. |
