| Mo Yan is a famous contemporary Chinese writer who has created more than 10 long novels, nearly 30 novelettes; over 70 short stories and several reportages and various essays. In his writing career, greatness of quantity, quality and influence is rarely seen among contemporary writers.As for school education, Mo Yan didn't study a lot before his youth. He dropped out of school without graduating from primary school, entered the big melting pot of society and became a real farmer. He lived at the bottom of rural society and encounter different kinds of people .His first lesson in social life was formed by the folk culture experienced from producing and living.
