The Individual Case Study On The Organization And Pattern, Musical Language Of The Groups Of Contemporary Ancient Zither Players Against The Metropolitan Background

The object of study of this thesis is the organization and pattern and musical language of the group of ancient zither players in Guangzhou. As an interdisciplinary research of sociology and musicology, the thesis, through field study on the assembly of elegance of the groups of ancient zither players in Guangzhou, aims to place the object of study against the contemporary background of a millennium-old metropolis with multi-layer cultural accumulation, observe the interactive relationship between the assembly of elegance and the society from the perspective of organizational sociology, and explore the characteristics in nature and intrinsic logic of the organizational structure and the role layering of the groups of ancient zither players; to observe the demonstration structure, timbre aggregation and the unfolding and change of the music time of the acoustic language of the zither music of ancient zither players and explore the diversity and identity in the expressions of their zither musical language from multi-dimensions of the perspective of musicology. In so doing, this thesis attempts to understand the groups of ancient zither players at the verge of globalization and mass culture, their position in the metropolitan social and cultural structure and clarify the nature of the identity of the groups of ancient zither players and the problem of how it evolves into the present being.
